About The Wet Jet PWC

The Wet Jet PWC is long defunct. Mastercraft ceased production following the release of the 1997 models. With that in mind, it has now been close to twenty years since a new Wet Jet has rolled off the assembly line, therefore these watercraft have become part of PWC history.

We've managed to accumulate some info and photos from older magazine articles. Splash magazine did a nice article on the Duo back in the July 1994 issue. We posted some of the pics and specs below.

Photos and info are from a 1994 Splash Magazine.

1994 Wetjet Duo 300

Here is the 1994 Mastercraft Wetjet Duo 300. This was one of the earliest models manufactured by the Mastercraft Boat Co however it was preceded by the Duo 200 which Mastercraft marketed more as an entry level PWC. The hull resembled the other jet skis being produced in that time-frame. It was a new beginning as Mastercraft moved away from the snowmobile-like hull of the earlier Webb version of the Wetjet.

Wetjet PWC Specs

The specs for this particular model were also in line with other personal watercraft at the time. An eight gallon fuel tank complimented by a four quart injection oil reservoir. The engine was a 75 horsepower engine called the T-7. The powerplant was sized at 701cc. The Duo 200 still used the Brut 432 engine and produced less horsepower.

The Wet Jet Pump

Wetjet also reconfigured the pump. They called it the Hydro-Max and claimed it greatly reduced cavitation while providing better performance. Not exactly sure how this design improved on previous jet pumps but they did use a lightweight Dupont plastic in its construction supposedly to provide better durability while also making it easier to replace individual components if you do have a problem.

The beginning and the end of the Mastercraft Wet Jet

used Wet Jet jet ski parts The Mastercraft lineup continued until the last PWC's were produced in 1997. They boasted of better stability and more comfort on rough water and appeared to have a good handle on the personal watercraft industry intially. They expanded the lineup to include the Kraze and the ZX models in 1995, but ultimately decided to return to boat manufacturing after the 1997 models were sold off.

The Wet Jet brand was discontinued by mastercraft and faded into personal watercraft history. Parts are still available on eBay and through a single distributor for those who still enjoy these machines. We are still compiling info on parts for the Duo, Kraze, and ZX.

Any owners or experts in the field of Wet Jet personal watercraft are welcome to submit any additional information and photos using our contact form.

Do you think vintage PWC's rock? If so, please share this with other watercraft enthusiasts...
