Kawasaki KX500 Dirt Bike

Let's hear about KX500 dirt bikes... Maybe some loyal Kawasaki owners can post some pics of their KX500. Anyone good at maintaining or repairing their KX500 have advice here on mods or recurring problems with the KX500 dirt bike, any achilles heel that you think is worth mentioning.

The site here also has a classified ad section for dirt bikes and used bike parts you can use it for the KX500 in particular (used Kawasaki parts trading or whatever), just use the classifieds section of the site for this stuff.

As for parts, the site here lists the common KX500 part suppliers here. There is not much here that you probably haven't already heard of, but they're listed here anyway.

In a nutshell, the dirt bike group forum works for:

When did the last 2 stroke KX500 get sold? These are probably vintage now, I haven't seen one in years.

KX500 is no longer made in 2 stroke version since what year?

When was the last 2 stroke Kawasaki dirt bike made?

The KX500 is a solid dirt bike...

The KX500 has a liquid-cooled, two-stroke engine with a displacement of 499cc, making it one of the most powerful motocross bikes of its time. It also features a robust suspension system and sturdy frame, allowing it to handle jumps, bumps, and other obstacles on the track.

However, the KX500 is a highly specialized motorcycle that may not be suitable for all riders. It can be challenging to handle and requires a significant amount of skill and experience to ride safely. Its powerful engine can also make it difficult to control in certain situations, and it may not be suitable for novice or inexperienced riders.

Additionally, the KX500 was discontinued in 2004, which means that parts and service may be difficult to find, and repairs can be costly. It's also important to note that the KX500 was designed for motocross racing and is not suitable for use on public roads.

Overall, the Kawasaki KX500 can be a good motorcycle for experienced motocross riders who want a high-performance bike for competitive racing. However, it may not be the best choice for novice or inexperienced riders, and it may be challenging to find parts and service for this discontinued model.

These bikes were awesome, hard to believe they are out of production this long. View the static page here at: the Kawasaki KX500 page
